I think I can give good insight into how to talk to people in your mid 20s. Whenever I notice someone cute, I'd go up to them and say that they look pretty/cute. If I have the guts, I do sometimes ask for their socials or give them a piece of paper saying that they look cute, and leave my social details on there. As for has this achieved anything? Not yet, though I do feel better towards myself for being honest and talking to people, instead of just being like "What if?". I'd say around 85% of the time, the other person appreciates the compliment. That does leave an awkward 15%, but as long as you don't do it continuously to the same person despite them giving signs of a "No", then I don't think that 15% is a big issue. I think there will always be a risk, but I think life is about taking the risk and see what happens. Yvonne idea of clubs and classes can work as well, though I've tried it myself and tbh, no one within my area interest me. However anime related events could be a good way for me to meet people with similar vibes/compatibility to myself.

If you don’t like ads, just get UA-cam premium. But you don’t want to pay money. Ads give Google the money they need to keep UA-cam running. UA-cam still allows the skipping of commercials which is better than any other ad experience. If you watching old school TV live, you get very long commercials that are not tailored to your interests.

UA-cam is now giving me a popup, something to do with correcting captions for the video, a big blue popup which conveniently blocks the "skip ad" button

I'm not sure if COX is available up there but man if you guys could see their commercials. They have Panoramic WIFI that will allow you to do anything you desire. Whoever is running their marketing has no idea what anything is that the company provides. The claims they lay out of what will be possible with their GIGAblast internet speeds it comical. Btw this is just an, Upto, 1gbps connection. Cox big claim to fame is all their Upto promises. The most truthful promise is that you will never get over the Upto speed.

I disagree with Linus' 5G could have been LTE take. 5G/NR is a massive improvement over LTE. Literally 10x speed improvements in real life. I don't know about everywhere else, but in India, 4G/LTE and 5G/NR are distinct things. They are vastly different in speeds and handling congestion. Without the buzzword BS, these technologies have been actually improving quality of services. In densely populated areas, 4G breaks down and gets 2Mbps (bits). And 5G gets minimum 250Mbps. In sparsely populated areas 4G is upto 90Mbps and 5G is 850Mbps. These are improvements casual users notice. India has never had this shady nomenclature ever. HSPA+ was always 3G, LTE was always 4G and NR was always 5G.

I've always really appreciated how LTT structures their ads to be as easy as possible to skip if you want to. I get that UA-camrs need sponsor spots, but I've always felt that y'all handle it in a way that feels like you respect my time.

How big is the sport center? A robot vacuum for 1000€ with station can do 2000 sqft in 2 hours. Then 2 hour to charge. So can at least do 6.000 sqft in 12 hours.. so if you have 10...

aren't video already stored in cut up segment so if a server is slow or needs to go down another one can pick up the stream. so you should be able to put the ad in one of those segments.

Although I'm no fan of advertising, I've noticed free streaming services such as Pluto or Freevee take the edge off the ads a bit, simply by throwing in unobtrusive bumpers and disclaiming how long the ad break in it's entirety will be. I know UA-cam's double-and-triple-dipping with ads is atrocious but maybe it could be a little bit less infuriating if they paid attention to the user experience like that.

It isn't that hard to block inline ads, just collect hashes of chunks of audio and/or video, crowdsource indicating what hashes are unwanted, weigh it to avoid yt spoiling the data and distribute blocklists. If AI gets involved it'll make it easier but also more cpu intensive/environment unfriendly.

I understand your ranting about 5G not being different then 4G. However in most countries 5G is currently a 5G radio with a 4G backend (core) (sometimes also called 5G NSA (non standalone). There is also the concept of 5G SA (standalone). That changes a lot of the things in the 5G core. I'd recommend to visit a GSMA conference or summit and do a in-depth background video. It is interesting stuff for tech nerds.

I was in a hackathon back in 2017 and the challenge for Nokia was literally to demonstrate how 5g is better than 4g. We created a short video where 2 players compete in Overvatch one lagging and one not lagging, claiming that the difference was from using 5g vs 4g. A Finnish carrier used the idea some time later in an ad where they raced cars in a videogame and the other one lagged, claiming the difference was in 5g vs 4g.

I think it would be healthy if we spend less time on youtube. Ads would most certainly incentivise, someone like me to use youtube less. I absolutely can't stand ads, and would rather just not use the platform. UA-cam is not that important. I don't need to watch every video about every subject.

Instead of T9, on iPhone you can pull down for search, type the first few letters of a persons name and you get phone, messages, and, FaceTime for that person. It’s faster too.

I know this segment was just 'old man shouting at TV', but just to get it on record as someone who spends their days designing cellular connectivity, it really ISN'T all about Internet access or even making bits go faster. A typical telco will offer consumers maybe a couple of ways of getting connected depending on whether the user picks Android or Apple. The cool stuff is what you never see, with corporate customers getting highly bespoke services or trying to build out innovative approaches they can resell into the market. None of us in tech like the buzzword bingo thing that marketeers do, but 4G and LTE aren't the same. In fact the 4G family moniker comes courtesy of the ITU, which is part of the UN. The intent is to steer research and investment so that people can create new things over more clearly understood timelines. That also isn't perfect and an actual concern isn't the labels - it's why the ITU is so happy to 'start' a new gen but does nothing to address longevity and permanance.

UA-cam needs to improve ad experience. Maybe start by matching scam ads and "bot" accounts. If bot accounts use adblock ban them. Russian propaganda gets views by Chinese bots. UA-cam gets paid.

Talking about buzzwords. We have a local internet provider in my area using a modified 5G network to beam internet into people’s homes that call themselves “6Gee” I think they have had pushback from some sort of authority as I think they might have changed name.

Those marketing lies work so well that I was convinced 5G was nothing more than a buzzword. I thought 5G was *only* the millimeter wave stuff that seemed practically useless.
